He is only 24 but Jannik Sinner has gone through many dramas in recent years and in Italy they expanded in the last day about one of the latest.
As remembered only three days before the opening of the last Wimbledon the world number one shocked when he fired fitness coach Marco Panichi and physiotherapist Ulisses Badio both senior staff members formerly of Novak Djokovic.
They joined him only in the fall of 2024 but the relationship exploded quickly and the reason is mainly emotional.

According to a report in Corriere della Sera Panichi shared with journalists an intimate detail that Sinner cried for fifteen minutes in the locker room after the painful loss to Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final a match in which he lost a 0 to 2 sets lead in front of a Parisian crowd that stood entirely behind the Spaniard.
For Sinner this publication without his approval was unforgivable. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Sinner had already warned Panichi that he talks too much and Badio was dragged into the move as collateral damage because he joined with Panichi as a package staff according to the report.

But the dramas did not end there because in a complete surprise Sinner returned to his team his previous fitness coach Umberto Ferrara who was involved in the doping affair in which one of the big stars of the sport was suspended for three months.
Ferrara purchased a contaminated drug that according to reports entered Sinner’s body during a massage given to him without his knowledge.

The decision to bring Ferrara back shortly after he accused him indirectly of professional disgrace with the opening of preparations before the US Open raises heavy question marks about the conduct of Sinner’s camp. Italian tennis commentator Paolo Bertolucci explained there is a deep connection between Sinner and Ferrara.
He never stopped appreciating him. Sometimes in life there are mistakes and it does not mean you have to ostracize.
Only Sinner knows what Ferrara gives him.
